This is THE Prairie
Photography Restaurant guide. Not really a guide, just some of Tom and
Suzan's favorite places to eat. Created as a reminder to Tom, the guide
does not have the usual restaurant chains such as Appleby's and Chili's
and Outback Steakhouse, all fine establishments, but instead includes
local favorites.
* Lindy's at Silverwood Theme Park - You can't miss Silverwood Theme Park, especially now that the new coaster, "After Shock", is up and running. There are tons of places to eat at Silverwood, but did you know that Lindy's has Ribs, Chicken and Shrimp? Give them a try next time you are out there, or, just go there for dinner. I believe you can get a dinner pass so you don't have to pay the park admission. *The Fort Ground Grill - 705 River Ave., right on the way to North Idaho College. Great menu and atmosphere. Prairie Photograph favorites include any of the sandwiches, Fish and Chips, Chicken Fried Steak, Fettuccini. *The Porch - 1658 E. Miles, 772-7711, Hayden Lake. Original menu items such as Prairie Photography's favorites, the Ploughman's Plate, and the Chicken Caesar Soft Taco with the roasted corn pasta salad. Daily specials, if they have ribs, order and eat them! *Moontime - 1602 E. Sherman Ave, 667-2331, same owners as The Porch but downtown and they don't have the Ploughman's Plate. *Fisherman's Market and Grill - 215 W. Kathleen, 664-4800, a new place in town, right across from Home Depot. Mostly fish sandwiches and fish and chips. On the fish and chips, you have your choice of 8 and sometimes 9 types of fish to choose from, and 8 different tartar sauces. VERY good. * The Pizza Factory - On Prairie in the Albertson's center, 762-9937. Great Pizza, but try the sausage sub. Yes, this is a chain, but still the best pizza in the Hayden Area. They have room for parties, such as your softball team. * Daanen's Deli - 8049 Wayne BLVD which is just east of Government Way on Prairie Ave, 772-7371. Excellent sandwiches, I've heard they have a good selection of beer on tap and wine as well. One of Tom's favorite lunch locations.
